Last day of school

Briana sitting in front of Pleasant Lake Elementary on her last day of school. Doesn't she look happy? ADIOS 5TH GRADE!!
This is Brandi on her lat day of school with her teacher, Mr. Eubanks. He was such an awesome teacher- Brandi gained so much confidence under his instruction. WAY TO GO, BRANDI!
ADIOS 1ST GRADE!!

Our Honor Student

This past week was Briana's 5th grade graduation. Wow! What a night that was. Ronnie and I were so impressed at how much the school put into that night to make it so special and nice for the students who are leaving 5th grade and moving on to Middle School. At graduation, they gave out 5 different awards. Briana got 4 of them! (The only one she didn't get was
Most Improved-but she was great all year)
Without going into detail on each one, I'll just say that they were all academic awards for Math, Science, Language and Social Studies. She received "A's" all four marking periods.
WAY TO GO, BRIANA! WE ARE SO PROUD OF YOU!!!

Brandi wanted to take a picture of us...

Missing some teeth?

This is daddy trying to pull Brandi's tooth... but she wouldn't have it! Can you see the fear in her eyes? Poor thing... I remember being tortured too! :)

It finally came out! One tooth out on top...
...now two teeth out on top. Someone got rich from the toothfairy this week! Uncle Jimmy got to witness the 2nd tooth coming out while he was here! Thank goodness for Fruit Roll Ups. :)

Jimmy's visit to Michigan

We had the best time with Jimmy visiting us! It was so short, but it was so good to see him. Come back and visit soon... and bring your boys!! :)

Brooke and Ian taking a bath...

A few weeks ago I was babysitting our neighbor and friend from church, Ian. (such a cutie!!)I had to give Brooke a bath, so we might as well give Ian one too! :) Here are a couple pictures of them in the bathtub. I have more... but I think this is all I'll add here.

Brooke is trying to get him to look at the camera! Not everybody loves the camera like you do, Brooke! :)

1st grade Bug Show

Brandi's 1st grade class was in a bug show.... Hilarious! They sang sooo many songs about bugs...who knew there were so many? hee hee. Some of the songs were Baby Bumblebee, Shoo Fly, Caterpillar Crawl, Flea Fly Mosquito, Buggy Wuggy, La Cucaracha, The Ants Go Marching, just to name a few. It was really cute. She was a butterfly with little butterfly wings. In fact, most of the kids were butterflies. So here are some pictures. Oh, these will be priceless one day. :)

Briana's birthday, etc.

Well, I guess it's time to update things on our family. We have moved into our new house, which was a huge task in iteself. But thank goodness we are finally here. I have been making lots of lists of things that I need ... okay... WANT around the house. We have a few major purchases to buy and I guess the other things will just have to come later. I'm still taking Briana and Brandi back and forth to their school. I didn't want to start them in a new school at the very end of the school year. That would just be cruel! :O So they're out of school on June 7th and YAY for summer break!! Briana just got back last weekend from her 5th grade Chicago trip. They were gone for 3 days and 2 nights with their whole 5th grade. They did so many fun things there- they went to the Shedd Aquarium, Field Museum, Science Museum, Navy Pier, a dinner cruise, they saw the Blue Man Group perform, went to Hard Rock Cafe... they had a blast. I gave her a disposable camera and I don't have those pictures developed yet. But when I do, I'll scan them into the blog (if there are any good ones). You never know with Briana's camera taking skills. :)

Okay... more on Briana. She just had her 11th birthday. She got a much needed bike, some flowers (per her request) and a few other things. I'm letting her have a sleep-over in a few more weeks. (her first one ever) We don't usually do those, but we're giving in this time. She'll get some more much needed things like clothes, etc. at her 2nd birthday party. She'll also get a birthday cake at that party. Poor child didn't get a cake!! We were still in the middle of a million boxes when it was her birthday.
Brooke and Brandi are doing great, too! Not much to report on them. Brandi is having a Bug Musical today at her school, so if I can get some good pictures, those will be posted next. The picture of her above is at the Detroit Zoo this week on a field trip. We had so much fun.

Well, hope everyone is doing well! Adios!

Spring Pictures

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter, everyone! The morning was fun with candy galore! I think the girls probably had a sugar high before we even went to church. But I guess that's the way Easter morning goes!
After church, we came home to some ham, macaroni and cheese, potato salad and some brownies. Yum. We decided not to have a big feast... it's only the 5 of us...and we are in the middle of boxes since we'll be moving soon. It's also spring break this week for us. And of all things, we have snow. It's a snowy spring break. Not our idea of SPRING! But we live in Michigan... we're used to it by now.
We had a nice Easter Day... hope you did too!

Briana's 5th Grade Cinderella Play

Here is Briana in her 5th grade play. She is Suzy, the mouse. She had a singing part in one of the songs. (When I remember what it is, I'll change the post to say what it is. My mind has gone blank! ) Anyway, Briana was very cute and adorable, as you can see! They performed once for the school, then performed two nights for parents and friends. She really had a great time.

Monday, March 26, 2007

We just celebrated Brandi's birthday tonight...one day early. She is turning SEVEN tomorrow. Wow! Where does the time go? We decided to celebrate tonight for Family Home Evening. We also wanted to have just a family birthday party. No big parties this year. We just don't have the time. She was very understanding and didn't really mind. What a good girl! :) She got a scooter, a gift card to Justice (a girlie clothing store), a Q20 game, a promisory note that I will buy her another Tomagotchi (her favorite virtual pet game). She got a version 3 for Christmas and now she's dying to have the V4. But stores have been sold out for awhile. We headed on over to Chuck E Cheese for a little while. We debated what to do since it is still a school night. Chuck E Cheese is always fun, so that's what we did. They had fun. Enjoy the slide show.

Playdough fun

We made some playdough in a few different colors and the girls got really creative. The Mermaid is Briana's creation. She's the devil child in the picture above. :) They also made an army. It was the greens against the blues. ha ha

Brandi's 1st grade Tooth Play

Here is Brandi in her first grade play called "Meet Our Teeth". Her big line was, "I am an apple. Do you want to eat me?" Then everybody said, "Yes, we want to eat you. You are good for us." The play was so funny. The kids were singing the cutest songs. We forgot to wear blue and white that day. But I have a really good excuse...I promise! It's called, I've lost my mind.

3 Cutest Snow Bunnies

My Snow Bunnies... Brooke, Briana and Brandi. We can't wait for summer!! :)

Ice Ice Baby

Last month we had some ice and this is one of the pictures I took of the crabapple tree in front of our apartment. I loved how the ice formed over each berry. Very cool! :)

Aunt Dianne's visit

Here are a few pictures of the girls with Aunt Dianne and also check out the one of Brandi beating Aunt Dianne at UNO. ha ha
